What's the best OS (operating system) for you?

Hello, Guys! and welcome to my new topic about IT & C. Today we're going to talk about computers and their operating systems. Here's a list of the most popular operating systems:

  1.                   Windows 7 - > based on .Net framework
  2.                   Mac OS (apple's OS) -> based on UNIX
  3.                   Ubuntu - > it's a distribution of  LINUX's family (they are hundreds of distributions in this family).
Ok, now... But what's the best for you? well... it depends of your needs... I mean... for example, if you're a gamer, you're not going to use any of Linux distributions, because, Linux is an open-source OS, and it's not compatible with DirectX graphics platform from Microsoft, platform that most of the games use. So... it means that Windows 7 (preferable on x64 bit) is for GAMERS.

So... If Windows 7 is for gamers, what other OS's are good for? well... the other two OS's are running another type of graphics engine, called OpenGL. This graphic engine is also compatible with Windows, so if you really love games like Battlefield 3 or 4... Stay with Windows 7 x64.
The other two OS's are very useful in other purposes that Windows cannot figure out, or is not that good. For example, Mac OS is the favourite OS for WEB Programmers, because they have a lot of tools on Mac OS... The guys who like to play with Photoshop or Video making softwares are really enjoying this product. In the other hand, even businessmen uses Mac OS because Apple's Mac Book Pro has a very long-life battery and that it's perfect for his presentations. Mac OS is also, a little bit more secure than the Windows 7. But it has it own viruses, not as many as Windows, but it has. For example, check this link to see the Newton Virus for Mac OS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBJQ5085kSo.

Ok now. We let the best for the end. I want to say that... Linux is the best one in there. Why? Well... I think it's the most secure operating system from the planet. There are known only 45 viruses that are for linux, but not very harmful ones (malware type). Why so few? Well... it's because in linux you've got the Kernel. You have to gain ROOT access, so you can have the power of the entire system. There are no viruses that can get ROOT access. You're not afraid of it's viruses, because if you're doing a firewall configuration, you're not vulnerable to any of these 45 malwares. By saying that, we can be happy and use Linux, for it's security. About 85% from the servers use linux. Even FBI, NASA, CSI, CIA are using this very cool OS's from Linux family, because are secure, and they can hack easily other computers. In linux, you have better performances than Mac OS or Windows. It's a light, but very powerful OS. I dare to compare Windows: "A car that doesn't look so good, and it has an old engine", Mac OS: "A beautiful car like Lamborghini, but with a weak engine", and Linux: "A gang of programmers that are sending tanks for free." Why gang of programmers? well... Linux is open source, it's apps are open-source... so... If you don't like something, or you have a better idea, you can implement it, and this way, you're helping the "gang" to make a better OS/ app. Linux is perfect for the guy who likes to watch videos on internet, to download files, and make softwares. It also has it's softwares to open .doc files, like "Libre Office Writer" .ppt / .pptx files ("Libre Office Presentation"), etc. So... if you have a slow computer, and you don't use to play games... I recommend linux. But I think that in a few years, Steam will make more games compatible with linux, using OpenGL graphics platform. There already exists a version of Steam for linux and a few games compatible (see "Team Fortress").
